A Proud Homeschooling Milestone: Our Oldest Son Graduates!

In the beginning...

When my husband, Touré, and I first made the decision to homeschool our children, we faced some skepticism and raised eyebrows. But with faith in our hearts, we embarked on this journey with our three children: At the time our oldest son was in 7th grade, our daughter in 4th grade, and the original baby boy was in 3rd grade. We had recently welcomed our youngest son earlier in the year!

We didn't know exactly what to expect, but we trusted that God would equip us with everything we needed. Little did we know that our homeschooling adventure would become a lifestyle, encompassing travel, hands-on experiences, and a strong sense of togetherness. Today, as we proudly graduate our eldest son, we reflect on our incredible journey and the amazing growth our children have experienced.

For us, homeschooling is not limited to textbooks and classroom walls. It's a lifestyle that enables us to explore, engage, and embrace every aspect of our children's education. We travel to historical sites, embark on tours, and immerse ourselves in hands-on activities. From visiting museums to culinary adventures, we ensure that our children have a well-rounded education that extends beyond the confines of traditional schooling. This holistic approach allows them to develop a deep understanding and appreciation for the world around them.

Homeschooling has its fair share of challenges, but we face them as a united front. We support and uplift each other, knowing that this journey is not meant to be tackled alone. Our children have the best of both worlds, participating in extracurricular activities offered by our local school district. We believe they lack nothing and embrace the freedom to grow and mature without doubt, shame, guilt, or labels. Psalm 23:1 resonates deeply with us as we witness our children thriving in this nurturing homeschool environment

The First of 4

In June, we celebrated a significant milestone in our homeschooling journey as we proudly handed our son his well-earned high school diploma. Graduating our firstborn is a testament to the dedication and hard work invested in our homeschooling adventure. We are immensely grateful for the support and love from our village, near and far, who came together to celebrate our baby's achievement. The gems of wisdom and guidance shared over the years have played an integral role in shaping the remarkable young man we see before us today.

As we bid farewell to our homeschooling years with Touré, we eagerly anticipate the future and what God has in store for him. With an academic scholarship in hand, Touré will embark on his college journey in the fall. We have faith that the solid foundation we built through homeschooling will serve him well, allowing him to excel academically, personally, and spiritually. We can't wait to witness the incredible things he will accomplish and the positive impact he will make in the world.

Our homeschool journey, which began with uncertainty, has blossomed into a resounding success. Through faith, dedication, and a lifestyle of learning, we have cultivated an educational experience that nurtures our children's growth and allows them to flourish without limitations. As we celebrate the graduation of our firstborn and look to the future, we remain grateful for the unwavering support of our village and the blessings that God has bestowed upon our family and our homeschooling adventures
